Code such as the following should cause an exception: Bin = <<0:1>>, <<Bin/binary,...>> (Because the "binary" type implies that the binary must have a size in bits that is a multiple of 8.) Allow 32-bit Hop-by-Hop and End-to-End identifiers to be modified by replacing the topmost bits with a constant value. This allow services on different nodes to generate globally unique identifiers by having each node mask in its own constant.
