WxWidgets (used by the wx application) also uses zlib. To
ensure that the run-time system and WxWidgets use the same version
of zlib, use the system's zlib if present.
Also, the system's zlib may be specially optimized and thus faster
than our own generic source code.
We only use zlib versions that are "good enough". For now, that
means 1.2.5 or higher.
Remove the option --enable-shared-zlib and add the option
--enable-builtin-zlib to force the use of the built-in zlib.

Because 26940a8c0c lifted code in the 'after' clause of 'try' to
a new function, Dialyzer could produce false warnings for code such
as:
try
...
after
file:close(F)
end.
Mark the the call to the generated function as 'compiler_generated'
to silence the warning.

This is not a clean refactor. It changes the behaviour slightly
of E/WSTACK_RESTORE. The allocated stack from E/WSTACK_SAVE is used
as-is and not copied into default_stack. This will hopefully fix an
illusive memory leak that valgrind is reporting.

Pick up --enable-m32-build and --enable-m64-build configure
flags from the CONFIG_FLAGS environment variable and pass
along to the ts configure script.

When inserting skeletons in emacs, some Erlang language elements such as
case, receive, and if statements, are not indented properly. This patch,
written by Leo Liu, corrects the indentation problems.

wxWakeUpIdle doesn't always work on wxGTK and the workaround is to
periodically invoke it, so the gui-thread doesn't get stuck in poll.
Previously it was only called when NOT in batch mode, however if the
wxWakeUpIdle call after a batch_begin command did not wake up the
thread it would still get stuck in poll.

The case in which an AVP was defined as having type Grouped in
@avp_types without a corresponding specification in @grouped was
missing.

Instead, add diameter_make:format_error/1 to allow the caller to format
if desired, which is what applications like compiler and yecc do. Use
this to check that the expected error is the one actually generated in
the compiler suite.

An error when expecting success wasn't regarded as failure when
compiling dictionaries.

Case expressions such as:
case {Expr1,Expr} of
{V1,V2} -> ...
end
are already optimized to not actually build the tuple. Generalize
the optimization to avoid building any kind of composite term,
such as:
case {ok,[A,B]} of
{ok,[X,Y]} -> ...
end
We don't expect programmers to write such code directly, but
inlining can produce such code.
We need to be careful about the warnings we produce. If the case
expression is a literal, it is expected that no warnings should be
produced for clauses that don't match. We must make sure that we
continue to suppress those warnings.

Passing cpu_topology or scheduler_bind_type to erlang:system_flag/2 results
in an error report warning that the argument is deprecated and is slated
for removal in erts-5.10/OTP-R16. Since we're already past that version and
no substitute approach has yet been decided for these features, keep the
deprecation warning but bump the removal version it mentions up to Erlang
18.

The server code erroneously took the list of curves supported by the
client from it's own hello extension, effectively breaking curve
selection all together.
Also the default fallback secp256k1 curve is not supported by
all clients. secp256r1 is recommended as part of the NIST Suite B
cryptographic suites. The chances are much better that all clients
support it, so use that as fallback.

wxStyledTextCtrl had no wrapper class so, because it was not detected
that it had virtual destructors, thus references to it was not cleaned
up on destruction. When a process dies and wx cleans up the event handlers
access was made to the deleted object and caused a seg fault.
Added a testcase which I thought could provoke the bug but didn't.

epmd: Fix -names option on Windows
OTP-11565
|
|
Since 3aa60cc `epmd -names` does not produce any output on Windows
anymore. This patch uses fwrite() instead of write() which adds the
necessary carriage returns to the output so that it is suitable for the
Windows cmd.exe.
A test case is added (fails on Windows without the patch).

gzio.c is our own replacement for zlib's gzopen() etc
(based on a version of gzio.c that was included in an old version
of zlib).
Unfortunately, gzio.c still depends on the *internal* zlib header file
zutil.h which is not supposed to be used outside of the zlib source
code. The dependencies are the use of the gzFile typedef and the
F_OPEN() macro.
Instead of gzFile, define and use our own ErtsGzFile.
To get rid of the F_OPEN() macro, call open() of _wfopen() directly.
