2014-02-24Add test suites performing app and appup file checksTobias Schlager
Add the mentioned test suites for *all* library and touched non-library applications.
2014-02-18Fix library application appup filesTobias Schlager
As discussed in issue #240 *all* OTP library applications use the '.*' wildcard as up and down version. This makes library applications always up- and downgradeable. Using the wildcard version obsoletes all maintenance tasks regarding library applications' appup files. Additionally, it prevents upgrade problems caused by automatically included application dependencies when using reltool to create releases. Missing copyright headers are now consistently present.

* nox/debugger/erl_eval_SUITE/OTP-11676: Truly test debugger in erl_eval_SUITE copy
2014-02-10Truly test debugger in erl_eval_SUITE copyAnthony Ramine
The module was not interpreted. This surfaced two bugs, related to shadowed variables in binary patterns in comprehension generators, and guard filters not properly detected. The guard detection code from dbg_iload is deleted in favor of erl_lint:is_guard_test/1. The erl_lint module is now safe to use because it can handle all expressions emitted by sys_pre_expand, the following warning is thus obsolete and has been removed from code: %% Cannot use erl_lint here as sys_pre_expand has transformed source.

2013-12-12Test named funsAnthony Ramine
2013-12-12Support named funs in the debugger interpreterAnthony Ramine
The current code for the evaluation of ordinary funs is dependent on the order on variables in the fun environment as returned by erlang:fun_info(Fun, env). As it happened, adding the code for named funs changed the order in the environment for ordinary funs. To avoid the problem in the future, make sure that we only have one free variable in the funs that we will need to inspect using erlang:fun_info(Fun, env).

files as delimiters. While working on a tool that processes Erlang code and testing it against this repo, I found out about those little sneaky 0xff. I thought it may be of help to other people build such tools to remove non-conforming-to-standard characters.
2013-09-06Change encoding of troublesome notes.xml files to utf-8Björn Gustavsson
Most notes.xml files will be updated in every release and cause the kind of the problems described in the previous commit.

2013-06-14Fix binary construction on floating point middle-endian machinesJohannes Weißl
This complements 933e701 (OTP-10209). Without this patch the test cases "in_guard/1" and "coerce_to_float/1" in bs_construct_SUITE fail. The added lines in bs_construct_SUITE cover all branches that were not covered before (small and big numbers if BIT_OFFSET(erts_bin_offset) != 0).
2013-06-14Fix binary matching on floating point middle-endian machinesJohannes Weißl
This complements 933e701 (OTP-10209). Without this patch the test case "bs_match_misc_SUITE:t_float/1" fails. Simple error example: 1> <<_,_,_,_,_,_,_,_>> = <<1.25/float>>. <<63,244,0,0,0,0,0,0>> 2> <<1.25/float>> = <<63,244,0,0,0,0,0,0>>. ** exception error: no match of right hand side value <<63,244,0,0,0,0,0,0>> The additional test case is added because in a former version of this patch the ERTS_FP_ERROR_THOROUGH check for NaN/infinity was mistakenly applied on the still word-switched double.

2013-04-17Encode Erlang source files with non-ascii characters in UTF-8Björn Gustavsson
To ensure that 'master' compiles when we merge 'maint' to it, regardless of which encoding is default in 'master', all source files with non-ascii characters *must* have the encoding specified.

2013-03-07[debugger] Add an option 'Strings'Hans Bolinder
A new checkbox has been added. When it is checked, the range set by the 'erl' flag '+pc' is used for determining when to print lists of integers as strings. When it is unchecked, integer lists are never printed as strings. A minor incompatibility: settings saved by Erlang R16B01 or later cannot be read by Erlang R16B or earlier.

2013-01-15Implement ./otp_build configure --enable-silent-rulesAnthony Ramine
With silent rules, the output of make is less verbose and compilation warnings are easier to spot. Silent rules are disabled by default and can be disabled or enabled at will by make V=0 and make V=1.
