The argument of byte_size() is a bitstring().
The code in erl_bif_types that finds cases where comparisons always
return true or false is corrected when it comes to maps and bit
strings.

* lucafavatella/dialyzer-fun-literal-arity:
Teach Dialyzer arity of funs with literal arity
OTP-13068
|
|
Fix the range type of erlang:abs/1.
|
|
Thanks to ILYA Khlopotov for pointing the bug out.
|
|
Re-insert logic for `erlang:make_fun/3` in `erl_bif_types`. It had
been removed in bd941f5 while type spec-ing `erlang.erl`. Type spec in
`erlang.erl` cannot express arity of returned fun based on value of
argument hence re-introducing logic in `erl_bif_types`.
Re-definition of logic in `erl_bif_types` follows approach in 9d870a0.

The macro HIPE_SYSTEM_CRC used to contain a hidden cookie from the VM
that generated hipe_literals.hrl. This means that BEAM files containing
that macro would be tied to a particular version of the VM.
Change hipe_bifs:system_crc such that it doesn't require a hidden cookie
to return the desired value.

The hipe_bifs:make_native_stub/2 and hipe_bifs:get_emu_address/1
BIFs were originally used by hipe_unified_loader.erl, but the
code been obsolete and disabled for ages.
Remove the BIFs and all references to them.
In hipe_unified_loader.erl, remove the no-op emu_make_stubs/1
function.
|
|
Also fixed some cases where Dialyzer could crash due to reaching
system limits.

Commit 81c7db0e247a6ee1b7a5c2764aa9575d7f6fb88a broke apart
hipe_bif:make_fe/3 into two BIFs but forgot to properly update the
type information about HiPE BIFs in erl_bif_types.erl. This commit
fixes this by taking out the types of hipe_bifs:make_fe/3 and adding
types for the new BIFs hipe_bifs:get_fe/2 and
hipe_bifs:hipe_bifs_set_native_address_in_fe/2.

This port has support for both non-smp and smp.
It contains a new way to do io checking in which erts_poll_wait
receives the payload of the polled entity. This has implications
for all linked-in drivers.

It is now OK to inspect and modify the internals of opaque types within
the scope of the module.
The contracts are used for decorating types with opaqueness when it is
harmless to do so. The opaqueness is propagated by the typesig module
and also by the dataflow module.
A lot of details have been fixed or updated. In particular the modules
erl_types and erl_bif_types have been modified extensively.
The version in vsn.mk has been updated to 2.7. The reason is a
modification of #opaque{} in erl_types.
Dialyzer seems to be about five percent slower than it used to be.

* ks/hipe_bif-remove_refs_from/OTP-10851:
Fixed test to allow for lists:foreach/2 call
Change the return value of hipe_bifs:remove_refs_from/1
|
|
Added: binary_to_integer/1,2, integer_to_binary/1,2
|
|
In order to avoid an ummatched return warning in erts and make the code
more sane, the return value of the bif was changed from [] to 'ok'.
(Probably more hipe_bifs need such changes but they will have to wait.)
While at it, the code of various functions in hipe_unified_loader was
shortened by using lists:foreach/1 instead of explicit recursion.
|
|
The type ascii_string() in the base64 module has been corrected.
The type file:file_info() has been cleaned up.
The type file:fd() has been made opaque in the documentation.
The type nodes() has been removed from erl_bif_types.erl.

The hybrid heap emulator was last working in the non-SMP R11B
run-time system. When the constant pools were introduced in R12B,
the hybrid heap emulator was not updated to handle them.
At this point, the harm from reduced readability of the code is
greater than any potential usefulness of keeping the code.

When spawning OS (unix) processes with erlang:open_port, store the
resulting unix pid so that it can be queried later on using
erlang:port_info/1,2.
|
|
|
|
User tags in a dynamic trace enabled VM are spread throughout the system
in the same way as seq_trace tokens. This is used by the file module
and various other modules to get hold of the tag from the user process
without changing the protocol.

This involves exception BIF's, guar BIF's and some other complicated BIF's
Also some minor corrections to documentation and specs in erlang.erl
Added comment for each spec in erlang.erl shadowed by erl_bif_types.
Dialyzer test should now run well except for one or two cases.
|
|
New errors found when adding specs to erlang.erl and
removing them from erl_bif_types are examined and corrected.
Some errors was due to faulty specs, while others were actual
errors in the code using BIF's.

erl_bif_types: Fix types for lists:key{search,find,member}/3
Fix build problems on MacOS 10.7 (Lion)
|
|
The types for lists:key{search,find,member}/3 was computed under the
assumption that the key should be matched (=:=) to the keys in the
list, while the actual implementation uses comparison (==).
Thus erl_bif_types:types/4 would wrongly report that
lists:keyfind(42, 1, [{42.0,a}])
would always return 'false'.
