When httpd was started with 'erl_script_timeout', the value of the
option was converted to milliseconds before storage. Subsequent
calls to httpd:info/1 returned the input value multiplied by 1000.
This change fixes the handing of erl_script_timeout by storing the
timeout in seconds and converting it to milliseconds before usage.

All 1xx (informational), 204 (no content), and 304 (not modified)
responses MUST NOT include a message-body, and thus are always
terminated by the first empty line after the header fields.
This implies that chunked encoding MUST NOT be used for these
status codes.

The utility program `erl_call' in erl_interface used to call
lib:eval_str/1, which is no longer present in Erlang/OTP 21.0.
The lib module was eliminated in OTP-15072, see also
https://github.com/erlang/otp/pull/1786.

If a status code is provide by the ESI script that status code should have
precedence over internal defaults.
Also remove RFC 2616 requirement that URI must be absolute, that requirement
is relaxed by RFC 7231.

If the client uses PUT or POST to send a HTTP body the server
currently will gather the whole body in memory before passing it on to
the mod-callback. For legacy reasons it also converts the binary body
to a list, this is really bad for memory usage!
Add new option max_client_body_chunk to enable chunked handling of
content-length requests. Also make it possible for chunked-encoded data
to be propagated in portions to the mod-callback.

Internal use of the function white_space_clean/1 could probably be done
in a much better way using re-module and removing a lot of legacy code.
But we will have to do this later, due to lack of time, we want to make
this commit as little work as possible.

This fixes the usage of the httpd configuration option
'erl_script_nocache', which got ignored before.
Attention: Before, the option 'script_nocache' also changed the
behavior for mod_esi, now it only affects mod_cgi.

When a mod_esi request times out, the code to send a timeout response
was incorrect and generated an internal server error as well as an invalid
response line.
|
|
This change allows for more efficient delivery of large amounts of
data through the mod_esi interface when the handling process has that
data in binary format. It avoids the need to convert to list and the
extra memory involved in passing that list between processes.
